Salary in a Sweater

Back in July, I did a post about metallic sweaters.

I kept seeing this sweater dress on Tumblr, and on Lea Michele in a Fashion Week video that the cast of Glee was in.

I knew that if I ever found out where to get it, that I'd do anything to own one. The people who know me should know that I would rock this sweater every day. It's so Bubbie Chic.

My prayers were finally answered when I came across a dress that looked just like this sweater dress, by Balmain, later to find out they are from the same collection (F/W 2011). Yeah, about that. The dress with tax, is the price of what I'm assuming my salary is after taxes.

I couldn't, for the life of me find the price of this exact sweater. However, I did find a tank top and mini skirt version. The tank top, $7,795. The mini skirt, $9,800. So for pieces that are a fraction of the dress, thinking about the price of my dream dress could make me vom.

If anyone has one of these laying around, I have like $100 to put towards it.

The Time Is Right

Back in '09, Jon and Azad were going to drop a mixtape. I was so happy with their music, that I didn't understand why Azad decided to keep pushing it back from there on out.

Now I fully understand. A few days ago, Azad released

The production from Jonathan Marquez, Professor O, and David Dann on this tape mixed with Azad's lyrics will put any doubts of this new era of music to rest.

Azad lets his thoughts and feelings out through his music.. Everything that he voices is organic, explicit, and done with his whole heart. You can physically feel it when you listen.

I know for a fact that each and every fan and blog reader who has heard of Azad can connect to his lyrics in some way, shape, or form. He is infectious. I could and probably will spend the next month tweeting quotes from this mixtape because the flows are ridiculous and I feel a strong amount of what he says, or I simply respect him so much for keeping it so real.

I had the pleasure of watching this song come to creation in my living room. It's so real that I feel it hit the pit of my heart every time it plays. A fun fact is that Jon named this song, and Azad wrote separately, and somehow they had the same interpretation of what the song would be about, just by the production.

It's a masterpiece. Jenilee kills it on the hook.

This weekend, I found a dress that I fell in love with.

And then, the one who loves me, bought it.

I just want to stress that I realize I am blessed with an angel.

What I am experiencing, is what every girl deserves, and I just want to put that out there.

This dress was perfect for a hot day around Manhattan and a walk along the Hudson River, and I was really digging the way my new purse meshed with it.

Oh, and I won't lie, I wore it to work today. But tell me, who hasn't worn their Saturday outfit on Monday?

The other day, Jon came to pick me up from work. As a surprise we walked to the Michael by Michael Kors store, where he knew I had been eyeing the Hamilton Tote.

I originally wanted the bigger one, but after seeing it in person, I realized that Jon could wear it and hold me inside of it. So we went with the more realistic size.

I can honestly say that I have never loved a bag more.

I know this is going to last me as long as I desire..

Why? Because it's gorgeous.

Who The F Knew...?

That you need your ID to get currency exchange?

I wasted 30 minutes yesterday waiting in line at Western Union during my lunch break, only for the woman behind the glass (luckily), to tell me that I needed ID to exchange my money.

I'd like to take this time to broadcast a big THANK YOU SO MUCH to the person who didn't return my wallet when I misplaced it.

How annoying is that?

It's been about a century since I got my eyebrows done, it's definitely scary. So, my boyfriend handed me euros before he fled to europe to handle bidnass.

For the record, not all currency exchange require ID.

I just wish I knew ahead of time that Western Union was such a whip cracker.

No Feathers For Fashionieceta...

I've really been digging the trend of having different things in your hair. I think the reason I yearn for new things being done to my hair is simply because I rarely do anything to it.. including putting a brush through it.

My hair is kind of the one thing that keeps my west coast origin with me here on the east side. I never blow dry my hair, and have rarely dyed it. I no longer get sun, and I'm white as a ghost.

Dying Past:

7 years old- hot pink highlights in the front of my (naturally) platinum blonde bob

7 years old- then blue

15 years old- platinum blonde in front of my strawberry blonde bob that was seriously the worst move on my part- Thanks, Stevie!

19 years old- black ends that turned blue, then green, then went away in the span of a week.

A co-worker and friend of mine, Nat, got a feather in her hair. I simply adore it! So I planned to get one at the same salon Friday after work.

NOT SO MUCH after I told the boyfriend. Turns out, he isn't the biggest fan of the feather in hair trend.

I was planning to be rebellious and put in the feather when Jon was in Europe for two weeks... So what? I'll take it out if it's THAT BAD. But now, I assume I will just admire the trend until it fades..

No funky feathers for my head.

Meet the Kids

Something that I have failed to mention is that after a few months, living arrangements have changed for myself and Model Jon. Despite the reasoning, we were blessed to move into a beautiful, spacious apartment in Queens. Along with the massive amount of responsibility and team work it has taught us, it has been one of the most exciting experiences. I can honestly say that I've never been happier.

Recently, we added two new members to the family; Tatu and Tiger. They are kittens that Fashionaunta was fostering, and they were impossible to pass on adoption. It also made it easier for my family, knowing that they would still be around. I have personally never had my own animal, but I knew that it would be comforting to have other creatures that breathe in the apartment when Jon traveled over seas.

Have you ever seen the way a cat jumps at any sudden movement? Well, that was me with any creak or noise when Jon went to London for four days to shoot Givenchy's campaign.

We have the cutest of cuties, and we are loving being the parents of these kittens with different, but amazing personalities. They are yin and yang!

The Met

On Saturday, Jon and I decided to take a trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art since I had never been. Originally, I was ecstatic to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit, but the line for that was a year long. Instead, we used our time to browse in other areas.

I was enamored by the ancient jewelry that I passed by, simply because it is so similar to what we are rocking these days. The triple finger ring, stone rings, cuffs with animal heads, it blew my mind. Personally, it hit home that history never dies. Looking at the originals was a trip!

I was uplifted when we turned into the area of the museum with paintings. Standing and looking at the intricate details of peoples work blew my mind. I value the fact that people from the past were able to put such gifts to use, making it a luxury to go and stand in front of their work hundreds of years later, analyzing and appreciating. Seeing original artwork that I had studied and remembered from elementary school nearly made me emotional.

Side story...

Last night got exciting. Jon and I have been working on a song concept. I haven't had the huevos to sing for many people, but from what I am told, I have a talent. Lately, I have been working on getting over my fears because I truly do have a special place for music in my heart. We set up the music room with a mic in preparation to record.. I took a picture of the set up and uploaded it several times, also mentioning Fashionaunta (@darimarder) on my TwitPic application, but didn't see it show up, so I let it go.

It wasn't until this morning when the social media team here at the office was in a panic, thinking that we had a hacker, that I realized the TwitPic was set up on the @bongojeans account. I tweeted to my aunt on the bongo handle... multiple times, at that. Then it all made sense as to why nothing was showing up on Fashionieceta. Yikes, whoops.

Really, not a good admin move on my part!

Proud, Inspired, Infectious

Tonight is Azad's first performance at The Key Club on Sunset Blvd tonight, but certainly not his last. I wish more than anything that I could be there. I've seen this progress in the making for a few years now and I can't express how special it has been, and how much it has taught me personally along the way.

Azad, you have shown me persistence more than ever lately. I cherish having motivated, focused, and seriously talented surroundings, and you are a prime example of that.

This month I want to write a blog post every day.

I also want to recognize my amazingly talented boyfriend for working with Azad on his accomplishments. Without Model Jon's insane musical gift, the completed projects wouldn't even be close to what they are.

Jon, you're my best friend and this (my) world shines brighter with you in it. I love you.

My chandelier earrings are from middle school, also worn with a Badgley Mischka dress at junior-year prom.

My gorgeous roses are from my work-aunt, Meemz, and the most beautiful arrangement from FASHIONAUNTA all go perfectly with my color scheme for today. My desk smells better than it ever has!!

I want to look back on this birthday and remember how blessed I feel right now.

Blogging Bubbie Cred

When I first started blogging it was completely new and foreign, in the best way, obviously. The more I got into it, I started to see patterns and how blogging has become its own little community, even world. Something I have picked up on is that people get very angry over not getting their photo credit and I feel awful! I would be livid as well.

My grandmother, Bubbie, loves her credit. So much to the point where I have a saying called 'Bubbie Cred' that is used to define someone getting their credit in general. I use that term every day. Let's face it though, who doesn't want their credit?

So, with that said, I would like to say that most of my pictures have come from FFFFound, or IMGspark, Tumblr, even the almighty Google. Or my best friend, Tessa. Or, my phone.

I will be sure to deliver Bubbie Cred where it is due from here on out.

PS- I decided to do the 'Ombre' hair in black. It came out blue, and now it is gone. Planning on a re-do.

Spiderwebs by Azad Right

When the boys were making music and I couldn't share it with anyone, or had to keep it on the low, it was difficult. Simply because I felt deep down that I was not happily overwhelmed just because they were my friends, but because I knew it would be infectious to the world.

In the short amount of time that the EP 'A Piece of Mine' has been released to the public, thousands of people have taken to the music. I get chills sitting here, thinking about how many people have heard the brilliance that I do, about the people who feel a connection with Azad's words as I have, and the people who spread the music because they believe in it and know that it is rich.

People seem to feel a personal connection to 'Spiderwebs', to the point where it got radio play from 104.7 in Ventura, California.

Everything about it is beautiful, as well as the video.

I could sit here and talk about Azad until I'm sick of my own voice. I'm honored to call him my friend because I value surrounding myself with talented, motivated people who love and believe in what they do.

Ever since I've known Azad, he's been making music. I have followed his progress and seen him grow into a truly amazing artist that leaves me speechless on frequent accounts. His music is my therapy. It's blunt and brilliant, which makes it invigorating. And it's not like anything I've heard. If you look at my iPod, or step into my cubicle at work, my apartment, I'm playing his music.

Not only do I want to see him deservingly succeed, but I would love for his music to have the same affect as it does for me, on others.

Fash's Fortunate Company Follie-day Party 2010

Our company holiday party was two Thursday's ago. The morning before the party, a memo went out that there would be an American Idol competition and a So You Think You Can Dance competition. AI prize was $3,000 and the Dance prize was $4,000. Those are BIG numbers you're talking to a Fashionieceta that is not rolling in dough.

Ez-E and Rebs, two relatively new coworkers and friends convinced me to do the American Idol contest with them. Needless to say, we were nut-cases for the following 24 hours. Our song of choice was "Take Me or Leave Me" from the musical "Rent". Not the easiest song, but one we all knew and had the most charisma practicing together.

Thursday night we're at Provocatur for our holiday party. NER-VOUS. Singing is something that people get made fun of and something that can easily be humiliating. American Idol probably withholds many more people's interest throughout their audition process. 'Nuff said. I really can't think of how to describe how nervous I was as soon as they put a mic into my hand. First of all, we did not practice with mic's and I was not ready to hear my voice through speakers for the first time AS I PERFORM.. and I wasn't going to be plugging my ear Mariah Carey style to see if I was on pitch. After a woman from Peanuts sang an on-pitch version of "At Last", we just had to wing it.

Every compliment, encouraging statement, piece of performance advice went soaring out the Provocatur windows. I don't remember much of the performance. Just that my body was shaking and the entire time I felt off pitch.

Maybe next performance I will have a little more faith in myself because.. we walked away with 2nd place splitting $2,000!!! Was it worth it? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Absolutely. We made a mark for ourselves for the 2010 Holiday Party.

Towards the end of the party, Big Man was speaking to the company before our iPad raffle.

"and then 'someone' said.. 'Why don't we get everyone iPads?'.. so you're all going home with an iPad tonight." The place went NUTS.

Guarantee that my Big Man is better than your Big Man unless your Big Man is a Big Woman named Oprah.

I've just recently started to notice how once a person changes their mindset for the better, things seem to fall into place. And they fall into place a lot faster than you would ever expect. A few months ago I worried heavily about money, a contest with the result of second place and a holiday bonus fell into my pocket.. my second to last blog speaks about how my computer is hanging by a thread, an iPad falls into my lap. It's truly amazing.

It's been a year since I've been home in LA. In three days I will be reunited with my soil and the core of my heart.. my friends.

The holiday spirit is definitely in the air I'm breathing.

I was so flattered that I had to take a snapshot.

It always takes me by surprise when people deliver feedback about Fashionieceta. It's something I value more than anyone knows. To know that people are taking their time to read what I have to say and actually remaining interested and finding enjoyment through my creative outlet is simply humbling and motivating.

I was just talking to someone I met last night about blogging. She was so enthusiastic when we found out that our blogging hobby was something we had in common.

It made me realize that I wish I could blog more.

Why don't I blog as much?

Well...

- Work has become a little more real from the time that I started

- My computer is a POS. It's missing a key on it's keyboard, it doesn't play sound, and its life is hanging by a thread.

-Blogging doesn't come as naturally without the flow of a strong working computer

When I first started Fashionieceta, it had a completely different vibe. It was strictly about my life, work, how much I ate, etc. I vibed it out as time went on and I've realized that Fashionieceta isn't ever going to be consistent in content. I wanted to write about things that people are going to be interested in, and as soon as I started thinking about what readers wanted... That's when I became stuck.

Last night we were laughing about how we write about ourselves and no one cares.

But the thing is, people kind of do.

It made me realize that my blog is mine, and I could care about what people think... or I could write freely the way I used to without thinking about whether people care or not.

I have noticed that people idolize my life as they see it through my blog.

Things that happen in a regular day of mine could be surreal in another persons eyes, and that is always an eye opener for myself. It makes me feel lucky, blessed.

It could always be worse, but life is what you make it.

I try and remember that in my harder times.

If you read my blog, I appreciate it more than you all know.

I thank YOU for your time and hope that the motivation keeps coming.

Maybe She'll Dream Of Me- The Foreign Exchange

The Foreign Exchange was introduced to me earlier this year. The first song I heard of theirs was "All That You Are", which I demanded to hear over and over ad nauseum until I memorized the chorus. It was one of the most brilliant songs I had ever heard and one that I can now classify as a favorite. "All That You Are" and "Come Around" were two songs that made me physically feel happier when I listened to them. They are songs that I'm proud to sing along to.

The Foreign Exchange has a new album out that is amazing, of course. If you aren't on the FE tip, I highly recommend you get on it. This was the first song released from the new Authenticity album and the video was just recently released. Thanks for never letting me down, FE.

CoCo is the Social Media KING here at Iconix. He's very good at channeling different types of personalities and tweeting to relate to the consumer. In my opinion, and I'm sure in others, it's truly considered a gift. I don't know what age groups I could personally channel, and channel well at that.

I don't like when people look over my shoulder when I'm blogging. I never have, and I'm not sure I ever will. It makes me uncomfortable.

It's like getting dressed for the day or to go out. You don't want someone watching you get dressed. You don't wan't them to see you standing in your underwear, looking at your closet or in your drawers deciding what to put on. When you change your mind, you get undressed again, and change into something else. You don't want anyone watching this process, you wan't them to see the end result.

They Said It Wouldn't Be EZ.

Everyone told me that it wouldn't be financially easy to live in Manhattan... they were right. Even though it is a personal issue, a lot of people understand. Money is tight, people. It's different from when I was rent-free living in Fashionaunta's house. I was able to spend money on luxury things, and in a sense, really didn't have to worry. But you pay a price when you choose to "flee from the nest" as DattyFatty would say.

It's interesting to me. I'm sitting here wondering when I won't have to worry about these things, when I'll be able to feel comfortable again. Sometimes it stresses me out, and sometimes I think about how one day I will be laughing about this, or sharing this entire experience later in my life with someone who is going through the same thing.

Talibobz has brought the term "Remember the time.." into my life. We use it on the regular. Even to remember something that happened minutes, hours, or even a day ago. I can't wait to remember this time and look back on how I made it, even though it was stressful. As stressful as it may be, I am living this life where I am always happy. I can truly say that as an individual.. I am happy. And I have my friends and family to thank for that. (Yes, West Coast, that includes you people too.)

I love the people in my life. They are the reason I am able to be where I am now. I am very lucky.. even when I'm broke as f$%k. But at least I have cute clothes.

I have always been aware of the fact that you can cross paths with special people in life. But when you reside in a city like Manhattan, those rarities become more valuable. It feels like it makes those select few that much more special, because there are so many people in this city to choose from. Someone that I look up to has reinspired me to write.

I recently opened up a new door in my life. I started singing for Model Jon, who also produces some of the most amazing music any of you will ever hear. For years I have hid my voice under music, or behind closed doors. But I finally stood up and started to break through a few months ago at a laundromat with J in NYC (so cliche, right?). It's scary and exciting at the same time. It takes me hours of playing around to finally feel comfortable in front of even an audience of just J. (I like that.. Just J- something to consider Jonny). Each compliment is a shock to me and I feel a fresh reaction every time someone gives positive feedback. But I have so much to do! There is the process of writing a good song, and then finding the melody against the music, which in a freakish way comes so much more naturally than one would think. Beats? Just J working his magic.

I used to write poetry, more-so when I was willing to go above and beyond for english classes in school. It then became a hobby, and then I started to slowly not write as much. Eventually, writing would come sporadically. Next, I started writing this blog with no idea as to where it would lead. Looking back, I see that the style has changed. Even writing this now, I feel reinspired again. I miss this outlet.

I suppose that the purpose of this entry is a 'Welcome Back' to myself. For weeks I have been stuck on what could light the fire under my tuchas. I didn't want to continue with my daily routines. I have a job that I love at 19 years old. What more could I ask for?

For months, I gave you all an idea of what my life in the big city was like. I was able to archive my experience(s) and am now able to revisit the epic moments and emotions instead of letting it slip by and hang onto my memory by a thread. I feel as though those of you who know, or those of you who choose to read every entry up until now, understand the gist of my life- as fortunate, exciting, and similarly routined as it may seem. But now I want to take a different approach.

I have been awarded this amazing opportunity to live in Manhattan at 19 years old with a job that I am excited to go to every morning, and my two best friends living with me. I don't feel as though this is about what my days are like anymore. This can almost be used as a journal... with an audience. The life experience, the lessons learned on a regular basis, learning the ropes to life, learning about all of the different types of people out there, the tests, the nights where I party like a rockstar with my friends, the emotions, and overall evolving is now what I would like to archive. This world surprises me, blows my mind every day. I want to look back and remember what once surprised me before it becomes another normality. I want to get a rush when I read about an experience with raw, exciting emotions. I want to remember how badly it stung when my heart gets broken before I become immune to it.

Drake Riots

Drake. Love him, but I'm mad at him. Wednesday, Talibobz and I decided to flee to the free concert being held by Paper Magazine featuring Drake. 10,000 were expected to show, but twice as many did. It was truly disgusting and impossible. The sea breeze was blocked by the massive amount of body heat that surrounded us at all times, and the only way to breathe fresh air was to aim your head up to the sky. Not to mention, Drake was clocking 2 hours tardy.

After making minimal progression into the gross crowd, two fights on opposite ends of the crowd broke out, causing everyone to have a domino affect on the innocent bystanders. Before you know it, water bottles full of liquid are being thrown up, down, all around in every direction and people starting to get way too hectic.

Needless to say, we pushed our way out of the crowd. After getting across the street, we looked back and saw metal chairs being thrown onto a sea of people. A RIOT over this! Ambulances on their way to the crowd, police letting everyone get into the subway for free just to get them out. I couldn't believe how low people stoop and ruin the opportunity to have a good night. Lesson learned- Never go to a free concert. Truly disappointing.

As far as Thank Me Later goes, I had higher expectations. I personally haven't really found a connection or vibe to it. I still stand by the opinion that Drake is amazingly talented in the music career, being a great lyricist, singer, and rapper. Haters- go home.

Lately, Talibobz has verbalized something that I have known for a while. Dressing for work 4 or 5 days of the week is stressful. I've resorted to choosing my outfits the night before because I value my sleep time. Some people may agree when we say that fashion is an art. Therefore, if fashion is one of your arts of choice, you know that it takes extra thought and effort. But you're not bothered by it. You enjoy it.

Back home in LA, there are a lot of terms that have been created by my friends. Some words flow, some will never make sense, and some are remixed. A few years ago, a term for "heavy chilling" was "Flosting". It was viral in my group of friends, and then somehow faded out. I have chosen to revive the word, because I think it's great. It summarizes an adjective and verb, and rolls off of your tongue with minimal effort, as well as getting the point across.

The famous quote "Beauty is pain" is the truth. Many girls give up comfort for appearance. But we are okay with making the sacrifices. From cosmetic to clothing, we do what we've gotta do.

I've created my own dynamic to fashion. It's calling Fashion Flosting. You know when you're flosting in your fashion when you have pulled something together that is prime, but also extremely comfortable. You aren't bothered by one inch of that fit and you're rocking it. It's the outfit that you pulled together last minute, but that you could wear all day and all night.

Fash Finds a Family Friend

It's been a while since I've shared updates in my social life, and boy do I have things to catch you up on. After booking the European Fall/Winter 2010 Givenchy campaign (!!!), Model Jon fled back to Los Angeles, leaving Tal and I to ourselves, with many many changes to come.

Many have their own viewpoint on my rapidly growing relationship with Tal, but only few will ever understand. As mentioned in the previous entry about Bro, Tal is part of my soul family and I am nothing less than 100% confident.

Talibobz and I now reside in Manhattan together, and we are loving every second of it. And if we didn't, that would be tough shit, because we have no choice but to be together every second. Unless we are sleeping. Which I was banned from doing with her due to ferocious movements caused by chaotic dreams on my end.

Work has brought many new exciting opporunities as the Junior Marketing Coordinator. I was currently given a few projects in the Marketing Department. One of which involves a script with a few well-known actors and actresses and hopefully we can incorporate one of our brands into this movie. I am so excited!

Model Jon returns at the end of the month, and I am anxiously awaiting his arrival. Love The J.

My goal for the summer is to create unforgettable memories and accomplishments that I can hold close to myself and share with the world.

And every other day after that moment feels as though you have known them your whole life. That's how me, Jon, and Tal felt about Bro.

Bro moved back into the model apartment Jon lived in a few months ago. Admittedly, we were afraid of him. He was short for a model, but gorgeous and jacked. He always wore black, and always had a very serious face. His eyes could make anyone melt, and his lips could be dreamt about all day. Anyone could see why the model world was crazy about him.

One night, I decided that I wanted to see what Ambrose Olsen was really about. I started by asking him if I could bother him with some questions in the middle of him filling out paperwork. He replied without even looking at me, "You can ask whatever you want. You're a free person." So I started to ask him questions with Tal (my soul twin/soon-to-be roommate) watching. After a few questions, Ambrose asked me "Why are you asking so many questions?" I told him I wanted to get to know him. He couldn't understand why. I was determined to break down his wall.

An hour later, Ambrose and I were sitting across from one another at the living room table. I asked if I could nickname him and explained that it's just something that I do. He granted permission. I chose "Bro", because it's a cool name and it's in his full name. The smile that came across Bro's face made my heart jump. I was getting somewhere.

He told me to stop asking questions. I reiterated what he had told me earlier, "You can ask whatever you want. You're a free person." He shot back by telling me that I could in fact ask whatever I wanted, but it didn't mean that he was going to answer. He told me that he would give me a scary look and not reply. I told him he couldn't look at me without smiling. He tried, and he couldn't. I heard Tal whisper to Jon, "Do you see this?!" They were in shock.

By the night's end, the four of us had created endless inside jokes, laughed our asses off, and bonded on such a surreal level. Me, Jon, and Tal decided that Bro was one of us. He was coming to the top.

Bro was smart. He was over his modeling days, he had just had enough. He was hilarious, witty. Whenever we spoke to him, he was smiling. We loved him. Bro and Jon bonded, and it was a brotherly bond. Bro was not the type to sit down and share his feelings with just anyone. There was a lot about him that was a mystery. Jon was there for him though, and he knew that.

We spent a lot of time with Bro after breaking down the wall. He was just one of us. Sure, he had a separate group of friends. But when we all hung out, we sat and talked about life. The four of us were a soul family.

On Tuesday, I got a phone call from Bro. Just a call to check in and see when I would stop by to pick up a pair of shoes that I left at the apartment. Jon had already left to go back to California for a little while, but going to the apartment with Bro there felt just as okay. Unfortunately, due to our schedules we missed each other that night. We exchanged a few text messages, and I never would have guessed that those would be my last words with him.

On Friday morning, Jon passed on the news that Ambrose had decided to take his own life Thursday morning. I sit here reading the words that I write and I still refuse to believe that this is true. I don't know why. I don't know what went through his head. There are so many unanswered questions that I am craving the answers to.

Every step I took felt like I was floating, or I was too heavy for myself. Walking around, breathing, it all felt different. I cried all day. I just want him back. We all do.

There is a reason for everything. There is a reason why Bro came into our lives, made such an impact, and then left. I am impatient, I want answers now. I held, and will continue to hold a special place for him in my heart.

Bro, what the hell, man? When I see you again, I'm going to tackle you. You can't just do shit like this. You can't just come into our lives and then bail. We would have been here for you. You were such a beautiful, unique soul. I knew that I wanted you in my life forever. I can't believe that I will never hug you again, that I will never lock eyes with you again, that I will never see you smile ever again because of something I said. I don't only speak for myself when I say that you were magical to me. You were magical to all of us. I'm mad at you. I miss you. I loved you and I will continue to love you. You were a part of me in such a significant way, and you knew that. That is who you were to all of us. This is painful. It's unfair. I want you to come back. And I want to make up from this nightmare. I hope that you are happier now, and I hope that you visit me every day. You are our angel now, there is no doubt in my mind that you will protect us until we meet again. And as much as I appreciate it, it doesn't make up for the pain that I carry wanting to squeeze you in a hug. Be my sun, and be my moon. ;) You were a brother to Jon. You were a soulmate to Tal. You were a magical brother, soul member to myself. I saw it in you, and I preyed it out. With you gone, a part of all of us is gone. It didn't have to be this way, but this is the way it is. I will celebrate your life and the impact you made on mine on a daily basis. I will love you forever. I will miss you every single day. You will always be a part of me, and a part of us three.

Did you miss me? ;)

Once again, it's been a while, but now that I have my computer we are back in action... and we're back in action in more ways than one.

The Big Man made yours truly an official employee on the first of this month. I am now the Junior Marketing Coordinator, working for PR three days a week, and marketing for the other two. It is the most rewarding feeling I have experienced thus far. I am an official Fashionieceta.

Last Sunday, I was at the Badgley Mischka showroom helping dress models for bridal appointments. The appointments consisted of buyers from different stores coming in to see the new line for Fall 2010. These buyers had the option to have the models try on any dress they wanted so they could see how the dress was made to fit. At 1pm and 3pm, press came into the showroom. Instead of buyers sitting down and flipping through the book, having someone explain every part of the dress to them, seats are set up, and the models walk out and do a mini show, with someone calling out the names of the dress. With press, there are editors from magazines and photographers taking pictures as the girls walk out. Behind the press are me, Mark Badgley, and James Mischka dressing the two girls, zipping them up in dress after dress.

Mark and James came for the second round of press, and before they had gotten there, I had been tying a certain bow on a dress really well. Of course once Mark and James were back dressing the girls with me, that dress comes up, I try to do my perfect bow, and I look at James, he looks at the bow and said, "That's awful." And it was. All I could do was laugh quietly and tell him that I had been doing it perfectly every time before he got there! Then again, what 19 year old girl can say that they had James Mischka tell them that the bow they tried to tie on their very own Badgley Mischka dress was terrible? Insult or compliment, it's kind of cool. What isn't cool is the open blister I have on my finger from zipping those two models up for seven hours.

There are so many exciting things coming up and new projects to share with all of my readers. I cannot wait to share them with you and hear your feedback.

I'd like to dedicate this entry to The Big Man and Fashionaunta for making all of this possible. I wouldn't be here without you two, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What Could Speidi Be Up To?

By Saturday, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were following the @candiesbrand team. None of us are following them, nor did we tweet them. So why would Heidi and Spencer follow us? And WHY are they following 70,000 people or more? Could it be possible that the fame whore couple needs the attention? Sad. This couple looks like they will take any opportunity that comes their way. It looks like they're even saving some people effort and going to them!

Little does Spencer know, we used to live in the same neighborhood back at home. We had a few encounters at our village café, Café Vida, and some driving down the block. If I were Spencer, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the 70,000 people I follow on Twitter happened to be an old neighbor though... I'd almost expect it. After a one on one conversation with Spencer who chose to bash Lauren Conrad 3 minutes in, you'd just come to the realization that he's another guy who thinks he's got it all.

Heidi, on the other hand, is a huge mystery to me. I can't decide if she freaks me out, or if I just feel sorry for her. I wouldn't be surprised if she was following the Candie's team in hopes of being our next spokesperson. I wouldn't doubt it for a second if she thought her auto-tuned album that sounds like one big terrible song was going to sell as much as "Thriller". Let's not forget her completely unnecessary plastic surgery stunt. Yikes! Even writing about it is making my stomach turn. Speidi needs to take it easy.

In other news, Fashionaunta was in LA last week. When she was at LAX to catch her flight back home to NY, she ran into a couple, breeding teacup morkie's. Yes, she came home with a ten week old puppy!!! Her name is Lola, and Lola is the most precious, tiniest living thing in the entire world.

Love Britney Fanatics!!!

Wow, Britney fans!!! Candie's Brand got an additional 1,000 followers on Twitter this past Friday. The agreement with @candiesbrand was if we reached 3,000 followers by the end of the day, we would release a behind the scenes photo from Britney's Terry Richardson shoot. Candie's DID get their 1,000 followers/fans, and released the picture from the Richardson shoot. A few days ago, a second picture was released due to another 1,000 people becoming @candiesbrand followers!!! Amazing. I'm so excited and super impressed! The new Candie's billboard with Brit is now up in Times Square!

Now that fashion week is over, it's back to requests and such. Yesterday I had a second meeting with CoCo and one of our newest members to Iconix, the Entertainment Coordinator, with a man from College Humor. The first meeting we had with him was more of a brainstorm. Yesterday, he came with good proposals for one of our brands. Obviously meeting with someone from College Humor means we laughed, which is always a plus in my book. I'm really looking forward to see what comes out of this collaboration.

Other than that, I got my hopes up about this east coast weather. We started reaching sunny days where the temp rose up to 40 degrees, and now we're getting hit with ANOTHER snow storm. I WANT TO START WEARING CUTE SPRING CLOTHES!!! Where are you, Spring?! Come to me.
