Badgley Mischka Fall 2010 Show

About a week before the show, the 6 foot long seating chart starts to get filled with little sticky tabs that have peoples' names, company or association, and business title on them. This process would take much longer if Tara's freakish memory wasn't...well, freakish. This season Mark and James wanted a straight runway instead of a U-shaped runway, which pushed some people who used to have front row seats to the third and second row. You can imagine that some people were not pleased to hear that, however, what Mark and James want comes first and foremost.

Sunday, Tessa and I came to help email and call people with their seating assignments. Monday, I arrived at the office at 10a.m. and left at 10 p.m. In order to make the stress for the show day be at its bare minimum, that is the kind of effort it takes. Even though I was exhausted, I felt productive and the whole opportunity is always an honor.

Monday, I slept at Tessa's. Well, kind of. We went to bed at 2a.m. and my alarm was set for 6a.m. At 6a.m. I was kicking and yelling at Tessa to get her lazy ass up because we had a fashion show to go work for. By 7:20a.m., we were sleep walking out of the Fordham campus dressed to a T with every crazy student and security guard that was up at the crack of the snowing dawn looking at us like we were from outer space.

We arrived at the tents at 7:30a.m. Before actual work started, I took a glance at the models. Someone that I had hung out with several times with Model Jon was IN THE SHOW!!! I thought that was extremely cool. Just goes to show how small of a world it really is. Her name is Malene, and Malene look amazing in her Badgley Mischka Avatar-inspired make-up.

Once we started getting into the groove of things, it was time to really start to prepare. Every name for every seat needed to be evenly taped to the chairs. Luckily, there were student volunteers to help out, so it was done in an efficient amount of time. I was assigned to escort a celebrity for the show. I was assigned to escort Shantel Vansanten from One Tree Hill. Shantel called me when she was 10 minutes out, and I timed myself before I went out in the snow to get her from her car. I was escorted by Joe, the head security guard that every celebrity seems to recognize and say hello to. Joe held an umbrella over my head, and when we got Shantel, held it over hers. She was stopped a few times on the way to the tent for paparazzi pictures, and I actually found one picture where you can see a sliver of my arm on the left.

The show was phenomenal. Mark Badgley and James Mischka split the show in half. One part was Badgley Mischka, the other was the launching of their new line "Mark and James" which consists of cute contemporary clothing that I would absolutely rock if I had the mula. After the show, it was my job to snag Shantel, bring her backstage to take a photograph with Mark and James, and then escort her back to her car. In the little time that was spent with her, Shantel was very personable and a pleasure to escort for a few hours.

When my responsibility was over, I went back to the tents, backstage, and mingled for a few minutes. I ran into the very well-known celebrity stylist, Phillip Bloch, who recently had a meeting with Fashionaunta. If you remember my entry about that day, you should remember that I had missed my opportunity to do an interview with him for Fashionieceta. I decided to take the opportunity of him being in front of me, and use it wisely.

I introduced myself as Fashionaunta's niece, and he immediately knew who I was. "The one with the blog!" I told him that I would still love to have a chance to speak with him and interview him and he told me that after March 7th things should calm down and be perfect to plan a day to meet. I am stoked for this opportunity. Phillip is someone I have been watching on TV for 8 years.

The city was also shooting at our show, so be sure to look out for the Badgley Mischka Fall 2010 show on MTV's "The City"!
