No Love Lost, No Love Found

SVesna. Founded by the bold, beautiful and Bosnian, Vesna Savcic.
Another Uptown New York City brand that is killing the hat game.. with hats that you could literally kill in..

I was fortunate enough to be gifted the dopest custom made navy blue with red spikes and have the dopest time with Vesna doing our photoshoot.

Do You Right- Bridge

I think it's amazing that I'm inspired by my peers. As previously mentioned, I think our generation is the one that's really going to take flight, be different and more daring. I know that our wave is going to make an insane impact in every way possible.

I've always wanted to have a different dynamic than other bloggers. Yes, I love fashion and my job as a marketing coordinator in Manhattan. But there is so much more to me and my surroundings, and I've finally found a way to describe what makes this blog different. I've taken my passion to write, my own life and combined it with the enthusiasm I have in my incredibly talented friends. I admire them for what they do, and for inspiring me. I will worship the people who influenced us to get here, but to be inspired by your own generation.. that's dope- because we're not even getting warmed up yet.

Without further ado, Bridge has released another song, 'Do You Right'.
Another dynamic production that can't be easily categorized- it's different in the best way possible. This song has been the background soundtrack to my evening. I hope you vibe out to it as well as I do.

GIVENCHY-INSPIRED

I've discovered a new passion- street style. Underground, on the rise brands that stand for something. This is what makes our generation so great.. we have no limits of creativity. The people who find that innovative approach these days are the people that are going to set the bar for the rest to come. With that said, I'd like to introduce you to the brands that are allowing us to pay homage to the major fashion houses and designers that are legends and role models today, at a price more affordable than the actual haute houses the majority of us can't squeeze into our budget.

Les Plus Dorés, a brand that describes themselves as a small clothing company in New York City that makes limited edition goods 'for the most golden', released a few items before the Tisci shirt was released. However, that's around when I jumped on board with the brand and started keeping tabs, being inspired to blog about all of this street wear accessible to the masses- if you're in the know.

Les Plus Dorés is the second New York-based brand that I've seen be inspired by Givenchy/Riccardo Tisci in a rapid amount of time. 40oz Van released their Givenchy-inspired hat at the end of September... people were anticipating the release of that hat like nothing I'd ever seen. The difference between 40oz Van and Les Plus Dorés is that 40oz takes orders for 12 hours online, whereas LPD makes a limited amount of one release. First come, first serve. Both of these brands give us a chance to be a part of something exclusive. Something that people instinctively want to be a part of, especially if you appreciate fashion.

I've teamed up with Clément aka @RenaissanceXVIII of LUXE and LIFE, a beautiful friendship and collab inspiration brought to us by Instagram, the greatest invention since sliced bread.

There's almost an immediate respect for people who know about this underground hype that is just starting to catch flame. The greatest part is that as much as this buzz is advertised on men, women can swag out in it too.

Clément took the route of really paying respects to the roots of Riccardo Tisci, and mastering the Catholic vibes that have influenced some of his most recent collections. Religion is a big part of Tisci's DNA expressed through his work with a mix of his twisted imagination.

I chose the route of showing you that girls can get down with this new era just as well as the dudes can, and showing that the inspirational wave of our generation is one you can't sleep on.

Follow on instagram for more exclusive content and fashion god swag @RenaissanceXVIII

The 40oz Van team ignited the passion in me to explore this new world of fashion and also be inspired by the movement.

I'm happy to announce that the black on black Givenchy-inspired and NY Balmain hats will be available to order this upcoming Friday 11/30.

Black && Gold- VRGN LIBERATION

Bringing the 'fashion' back to the 'nieceta'.
I am really feeling my new Virgin Liberation (VRGN LA) shirt.

For starters, anything black with gold embellishments belongs in my closet. This shirt is bossy for a few reasons- it has gold V pins at the edge of the collar matching the gold buttons in the front of the shirt. It's long sleeved and sheer with heart cut outs in the back, making it sophisticated, sexy, and flirty. It's long, so it's perfect with a pair of black leggings, and last but certainly not least- we all live for the pieces you can dress up and down and take from day to night. I can rock this at work, out to lunch on the weekend with a friend, or when I go out at night.

Shout out to my long time friends Jesse and Kienan for this brilliant top and keeping me rooted from a distance. XXO

A$VP- Swagged Out

It is truly an amazing quality when a dude knows how to dress. Whether it comes naturally and looks excellently effortless, or it takes conscious thought behind closed doors... a guy who can dress is a guy who can dress, and that's an extremely attractive quality.

Admittedly, it took me a little bit later in the buzz to grasp the A$VP movement. ASAP Rocky's swag is the reason I finally decided to give his music a thorough listen and was able to appreciate it. However first and foremost, I'm always more interested in finding out what he's wearing or what high end designer he's currently bonding with.

You can imagine my surprise when in a recent interview with GQ ASAP Rocky said, "If a chick wants to know who made my shoes she's got to take them off and look inside." I so badly want to believe that, but part of me thinks it's too good to be true. Clearly, designers who know what's really good want Rocky and his crew members swagged out in their product.

I can't deny that I love what's going on here. I'm looking forward to seeing what these dudes do next because I wouldn't be opposed to them with their own twists on the market. Plus, jealous is an understatement when I see ASAP Rocky getting a fist full of RiRi's ass on stage in front of millions. What a dream, no?

This isn't the last time I'll be talking about A$VP Rocky and his movement, trust. Don't sleep.

Right Now - Bridge

Who isn't constantly in search for a new song that they can vibe to? As some of you know, I tend to surround myself with people who are heavily into music. Music is my life, my therapy. It's the only consistent element that can give me chills and that I can feel to the core of my body. The only thing I'll never get tired of.

If you've heard The Time is Right by Azad Right, you've heard of Bridge. He's featured singing on a few songs, and as previously mentioned, a close friend of mine. This is someone who lives, breathes, eats, sleeps, everything music. He can rap, sing, and he writes all of his own material. I've been a fan since we were in our early teens, and I've had the luxury of observing him become better and better over the years.

Bridge is an LA native and works closely with DJ SKEE. He just released his first single, which comes with a very well-done video, where even the coloring of the video captures the vibe of the song- "Right Now". This song is hot, in the most mellow way possible. A guy who can sing like this, is hot. I mean... I'm just saying. If you disagree, then that really sounds like a personal issue that I most likely wouldn't be your friend over.

Without further ado, check out the latest greatest. Let us know if you're ready for more.

40oz Van.

There's nothing like having a special respect for a brand. It's even better when you hold respect for the masterminds behind it. Since befriending a crew of New York natives, I've been introduced to a new world. For those of you back home in Venice Beach, you remember the Rogue Status movement at the beginning. Now, Yo is doing his thing heavy and it still humbles me to see a DTA sticker thrown up in the East Village, or someone so far away from home rocking a gun show shirt. In a similar aspect, 40oz Van has started a movement in his home town of New York City.

As 40oz Van puts it, he "goes left, when everybody's going right". Instead of jumping into the t-shirt game, he decided to dominate the snapback field and so far, he's killing it. His hats are sold exclusively online via a link that is up for 12 hours. If you miss that slot, you miss that hat. This is what makes walking around with one of these hats that much more dope.

Behind every hat is an inspiration. For example, the latest red Balmain-inspired hat was released this past month in respect and remembrance for 9-11-01. This is different than a mainstream brand producing a product. This is coming from an individual who lived through this, someone who remembers that day so vividly and from such a personal perspective.

I've fallen head over heels in love with Manhattan after this summer, so whenever I spot a 40oz Van hat, I get a familiar humbled feeling. I have my eye out- these are the dudes that I want to see succeed, because their innovative and ambitious characteristics deserve recognition.

My ultimate favorite hat has to be the one of a kind Givenchy-inspired hat that 40oz Van can be seen wearing in his twitter avatar, or if you spot him somewhere in the city. When they branch into women's, please believe you'll be hearing about it right here and that I'll be snagging whatever they come out with. I dig this movement.

One Love to my Uptown Babis.
