Give Me Mora! Women On The Rise

I had the opportunity to reunite and mesh worlds with an old friend and fellow thespian, Nic Mora. I have known since we produced Willy Wonka x Alice in Wonderland, that she was gifted and made for the entertainment industry. It is without a doubt in my mind, her natural habitat. Not only was she one of the very first I let into my work-world on such a personal level, but having her company this past weekend was inspiring. She wanted something different, so I put my A.Sue twist in the mix by putting her in outfits I knew she'd never be caught in unless we were having a shoot in my apartment. Stay tuned for the results! In the meantime, check out Nic's NEW SITE, Give Me Mora. I'm featured in the latest segment WOMAN ON THE RISE!

WHAT NOW?

Couldn't have lyricized or creatively expressed it better myself.

The art pulled from such a dark place makes me hold a high respect for this project. Everything from the song. to the exorcist element mixed with the perfect glamour & minimalist wardrobe. Don't know if it's from feeling a type of way, but my favorite Rih video... ever.

(WORST!) MUHH FXCKAS NEVER LUHH'D US

Project Pat x Isis in 40oz snapback & UPTNY shirt x Juicy J

If ya ain't know well ya know now. For those of you have been following my blog- first of all, thank you. Secondly, you'd know that I been on sporting UPTNY for my uptown triLLas. Two summers ago I was put onto 40oz Van through friends of his that showed their support by contributing to his movement. 40 and his partner Diego are so talented and I'm so happy for the success they've reached since I first met them.

We're on our Worst Behavior. The OVO crew just dropped the video for the song "Worst Behavior" from the latest album Nothing Was The Same. If you haven't copped it yet, you're sleeping. If you have it, you know how epic this song is. The video was shot in Old Bull / Dennis Graham's hometown, Memphis. If there is one reason I could give you to watch this video, it's for the Old Bull's mustache. Unruly.

UPTNY x OVO x 40ozVan NY like what it DO.

You know me, you know me, I'm liable to do anything when it comes to that you owe me! We all just want the credit where it's due. With that being said, incredible candid behind-the-scene photography by Matt Henry (@mathiashenry), with UPTNY and 40ozVan seen on Isis (@ovoisis). The merging of the worlds is real out in these skreets.

You know it's real when you are who you think you are.

OVO is just trying to influence a generation that's lacking in patience. Overly focused it's far from the time to rest now... Cop the album.

Macklemore Is F*$#ing Awesome

Follow the formula: violence, drugs, and sex sells/
So we try to sound like someone else/
This is not Californication,
There's no way to glorify this pavement/
Syrup, Percocet, and an eighth a day
Will leave you broke, depressed, and emotionally vacant/
Despite how Lil Wayne lives,
It's not conducive to being creative,
And I know.. cause he's my favorite.
And I know cause I was off that same mix/
Rationalizez the shit that I'd try after I listen to Dedication,
But he's an alien.
-Macklemore

I had the opportunity to go to the Macklemore show in MSG tonight on behalf of Buffalo David Bitton, and I have to say I think I'm in love. I rocked Buffalo head to toe- my jacket and my jeans were #InTheBuff which I could maybe say every day lately. You can tell he's a good dude with true talent that has good intentions he'll utilize with his influential power. He has a live band which always gets me going, and he sounds just as good live as he does in a studio production. My respect for artists sky rocket when I get to leave their show inspired. The above quote was the one that stood out to me the most tonight. I think it's mostly because I've been such a fan of Weezy for so long.. I remember wanting to write to him when he was in jail (yikes).  I guess it was the reference to an artist I once appreciated so deeply mixed with the message of his path to realizing that he doesn't need all of those vices to be creative. It definitely speaks volumes.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are the first to partner with Buffalo's Blank Check Series where we sponsor artists on various platforms to produce content on behalf of the brand. Click here to read more from WWD's article about the partnership.

BETTY WHITE'S SHARPER IMAGE MAN CAVE

I was reminiscing with a friend earlier about the days we used to walk into the Sharper Image stores and want everything in there. I'm sure most of my readers remember this time of their life vividly.. Sharper Image was tech heaven. The brand dropped a video that went viral today entitled, Betty White's Man Cave. If this doesn't make you want to shop Sharper for the holidays, I don't know what will.

With that being said, for those of you who don't know, I've worked at an extraordinary company called Iconix for four years and merged from PR to Marketing, with a rare opportunity to start my career straight out of high school. I've been fortunate enough to be a part of the company as the portfolio expands, and I couldn't be prouder to experience it all first-hand. It's been my job, but also my education since the first day of my internship. We started with only acquiring fashion brands but have branched into character, with the acquisation of Peanuts Worldwide and then into electronics when we bought Sharper Image.

I'm not going to sit here and write a basic review about the production below, but rather put a personal twist on it because, that's just what I does.

I've been on photoshoot, commerical, and tv sets from a very young age. Something I cherish so much about my life is the level of talent that I'm surrounded by when it comes to my family, my friends, and platforms like Instagram, where you have the ability to see everyones creations and what they wake up every day for.

My Aunt Dari, on this blog goes by "Fashionaunta" (the aunta to my 'nieceta'), is the Chief Marketing Officer of Iconix and somebody that I've idolized from a young age, but even more so as I study her through the growth of my career. She's the Anna Wintour of Iconix, so bow down.

The producers of this piece are some I've been able to able to grow up with and be inspired by since my early childhood. The family has evolved into a creative machine movement with an eclectic eye that keeps the culture of their craft true to its roots with a twist of a modern day if not futuristic concept and art. I've written about them before, but if you don't know.. now you know, trillas. BRAKHAX2.

Last, but certainly not least.. the below production was written by my father. I can't really find the words to describe how happy I am to see him back in his natural habitat, the arts. He had a successful run of a career as a stand-up comedian and with that being said, you can only imagine my childhood. (Awkward silence.) I love you, Daddy!

STAY READY (WHAT A LIFE) - JHENE AIKO x KENDRICK LAMAR

I been through some shit man, but i be on my shit man.
I decided that what you give is what you're given,
So I been tryna do it right, I been doin like
Whatever gets me through the night...
What a life.

Jhené Aiko's voice is so soothing, I swear she has yet to be on a song I don't like. Here, she collabs with one of my personal favorites, Kendrick Lamar, and this song is just as good and catchy as the rest. It's off of her latest project & EP, Sail Out. If you're in a mellow mood, or if you've had recent experiences where the timing just wasn't right and you're in pain.. this is music for the soul. The song breaks into a transition of different sounds and melodies that keep you captivated. As always, hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Great production.

AMERICAN GIRL | Starring Stevie Steel

Tonight, I saw the first short film that moved me.

As some of you may know, I work as a Junior Marketing Manager at an amazing company called Iconix. Not only am I so honored to be following the footsteps of an idol, my Aunt Dari, but I'm thankful to come from such a gifted family. Tonight, my cousin and I joked about the SAT's. I truly believe that college, this system after high school, and whatever comes after, is optional. It's not about degree's anymore. It's about art, chasing the feelings that excite you, and following your dreams.

I couldn't be more proud of my cousin, Stevie Steel, who stepped out of her comfort zone and genuinely surprised me with this act. The character she plays is so polar opposite of who she is in real life that I am really taken back at her ability to grasp this character. Take a few minutes of your time to watch this short film that was done a little over a year ago. For those of you who don't know me, my cousin has been like a sister to me through my upbringing. She's spent her whole life following her heart.

I love you, Stevie, I'm so proud of you.
